Deus Bali

The kid just keeps on, Keeping on.

Deus shop grom, Riman Jayadi, just pulled off his second win of the season in the Ripcurl GromSearch in Lakey Peak. He’d already secured himself a spot at the National finals with an earlier win in Nusa Dua but just couldn’t help securing his position as top gun. Riding his 5’5″ Deus Cutch quad, Riman left the rest of the field a full two points behind in the perfect 3-4′ waves, through a deft combination of perfectly executed turns and fitting his small frame into some sensational barrels. All of his family at the Temple just wanna let him know that we’re super stoked that he won and that he’s made us all as proud as punch.

The Emperors New Clothes – Deus BioRock

Those avid and loyal readers of the Deus Bali Blog might remember the Deus BioRock we sunk 18 months ago over at Gili Trawangan. It was a little side project we did with The Marine Foundation, Check that post out here http://id.deuscustoms.com/fathom-five-fun-part-two-of-the-deus-bio-rock/. We did another visit last July to look at damage a storm had wrought across our metal frame. Read Sunken Solace here http://id.deuscustoms.com/sunken-solace/. Well after a couple of fumbles we finally got back over to Gili T last weekend and to the bike. We came bearing gifts and bits, enough to right the wrongs. Our posse was three, Celia from The Marine Foundation, Greg; a mate of mine whose birthday it was so was treating himself to an … View More

Bromo or Bust

They say that great minds think alike…Now, we are pretty far from “great minds”, but we’d like to think that a good idea formulates in our noggins from time to time. And it just so happens that this occurred not so long ago. Apparently the worldwide family of Deus seemed to communicate on a subconscious level….or something like that. All 3 regions…Bali, Australia and America had simultaneous motorcycle trips. From the Sydney House of Simple Pleasures the boys had the North to Noosa expedition, In LA  at the Emporium of Post modern Activities Julian Heppekausen and friends threw legs over steeds and were taking the scenic route from California to Costa Rica…and from the Temple of Enthusiasm, we had Bali’s … View More

Rats on a roll

The last of the Temple rats have skulked back into Bali. Sheepish grins seem to be permanent fixtures on the younger two. And so it should be, this was their first trip to Australia and what a trip. Not your normal garden variety by any stretch of the imagination. Two young punks armed with cameras and wile arrive in Sydney. Straight away red carpet was extended to a couple of big events at Deus HQ in Camperdown and then bang, they’d packed up their swags and were off following a murder of surfers about. Gone bush as they say, the posse meandered its way up the east coast of Australia. From Sydney, north to Noosa. Meeting only the coolest cats and capturing … View More

‘NORTH TO NOOSA’ NO. 5

This would be the last installment of the ‘North to Noosa’ video vignettes. Big props to young David ‘Pretty Boy’ Schaap for shooting, editing and creating this series . You have a bright future kid!

North to Noosa: Chapter 4.

Byron Bay and its eclectic group of locals, wandering hippies and backpackers are always interesting to visit, but this road trip wasn’t dubbed North to Noosa so that we could lose our minds in northern New South Whales. After a couple of cozy nights in Suffolk park we were itching to be ‘on the road again’. We left Byron Bay and its grassy hills mid morning, with our final destination just four hours away. No time to visit the Gold Coast, our boards are too weird to be appreciated around the Quiksilver Pro. No interest in Logan, no interest in Brisbane and definitely no interest in Caboolture. We were on a direct path to Hastings Street and first point Noosa. … View More

North to Noosa: Chapter 3.

On these cool, sunny afternoons, the ride from Grafton to Byron Bay is pure bliss. With van in tow, we rode north along the Clarence River, holding tight for the gust of wind as each semi-trailer passed in the opposite direction. Our excitement increased as we passed each town, knowing that once Ballina was behind us, we were on the home straight. I’m not much of a believer, but the green hills inland from Byron Bay are how I imagine God’s country. Riding above the grassy hills, soaked in sunshine with a view of the ocean, it felt grand to be back in familiar territory. To Husni’s delight, we pointed out Lennox to the south and Byron to the north. … View More
