Some Family visits from Noosa

Its that time of the year once again, teenagers graduating from high school in Australia are enjoying their “Schoolies” or week long vacation after final exams. Zye Norris and Harrison Biden another pair of guys from our extended Noosa family are enjoying this time off and made the trip over the pond to pay us a visit. They stopped by this morning and grabbed a couple of logs from the surfboard racks out back. They took the Jai Lee / Thomas Bexon nose rider, Tyler warrens ’66 nose rider and jumped into Monty’s Combi which was headed to the beach. The duo and Monty spent the morning cruising down a right hand peeler, swapping boards and enjoying some time on … View More

Motorcycle Photography by Steven Stone

Seeing that my job description pretty much demands me to spend time on the interwebs everyday, I have become quite the virtual explorer. Delving deep and traveling far in the endless digital sea that hosts an almost unimaginable amount of information. Not too long ago, on one of these ‘explorations’ I came across the photography of Steven Stone, a Utah based Photographer with motorcycles featuring quite heavily in his subject matter. The aesthetic he manages to capture really inspires me to shoot every time I hop on my bike.  He along with a group of friends take trips, make their own parts and have a very simple but refreshing view on motorcycle culture, which I can appreciate. After a few … View More

Bengkel goings on

It has been a while since I poked my head into the busy bengkel out back. So after my morning coffee I meandered on over there and had a little look see at the goings on and grabbed the head of the workshop Mustang for a little chat over cigarette. Here is what he had to say… Mustang whats been going on in the work shop the past few weeks? The past few weeks has been business as usual, you know…grinding…welding…drinking… except we have also been working a lot after hours on the BioReef project, which we finished off just a few days ago. I see there are a couple of bigger bikes on the stands, whats the story with … View More

Munro’s Hornet

Do you remember when you were 13? Getting home from school and causing mischief with your friends until you made you way home in the setting sun? Those were the days, not a care in the world and no real reason to concentrate on any one thing. Recently one of the Temple Groms, Munro, decided that if he cut his mischief causing time short for a month or so, and concentrated on building a handy mode of transport…He would be better off in the long run. So he took interest in building himself a custom motorcycle. Not just any bike would do, he scoured the internet to find out his steed of choice and the direction he wanted to take … View More

Trippin’ for Tracking

With the swell being pretty non existent in Bali, eyes turn to the internet, scouring its charts and readings looking for the nearest surge that with it brings the hope of waves. Just as I finished my morning coffee, I received a frantic call from Jimmy James saying that Tai “Buddah’ Grahm had called Salsa, who turn called him and had booked us a flight to continue filming for ‘Tracking’…We had just over an hour to pack up our stuff and hit the airport to hop over to an island not far too far from our idyllic shores. Not long after a hurried pack and a rushed drive to the airport…we were in the air and gazing at tiny islands … View More

A Pigeon walks into a bar with a Spaniard under his arm

“Que Pasa”, what more can one say when Antonio Muñoz von Furstenberg walks into the room. Yeah he may have the same shirt on from three days past, out of control sideburns and a self-rolled smoke dangling from his lips. But hey, he’s an artist, and a damn good one at that. We here at “The Temple” are always geek-ed up when he sends us the latest installments of his on-going illustrations for our retina recreation and for all of you to get yer peepers on. So if you’re a regular around here, you’d know he has been seen trading tattoo art for a cold beer on Taco-n-Tattuesdays. But if yer living viciously through our blog like so many do, … View More

Bat Tail Love

It’s that time of the year. There have been no waves to speak of whatsoever. Finally yesterday morning there was a bump on the radar. Jason “Salsa” Salisbury, our newest board member, had the chance to finally lather up his Deus/Tyler Warren/Bar of Soap/Bat Tail. The new swell came in bumpy but this time of year we take what we can get and surf like there was no tomorrow. But, there was a tomorrow…More swell on the forecast got the boys amped to travel. Last we heard, Salsa, Thai “Buddha” Graham and Jimmy “I’m still boycotting t-shirts”, headed east to get surf while the gettin was good… God Speed Boy’s. Photos by Nicole Gozzer

The Deus big day outing…

Today we had another in a year’s worth of inaugural events. This one was no more special than the others, because we think all of our events are amazing. However, this one was personnel. Pun intended. The first annual Deus Staff Outing. After a big year of firsts this was the one for the unsung heroes. The 80 plus employees from book-keeping to bengkel, gudung to gardening, cleaners and cooks, barmen and board makers. The people who’s hard-work have helped build the company, in such a short time, into what it is. This morning just after the roosters had finished crowing we found ourselves piling onto a couple of coaches and headed up into the hills for a spot of … View More
