‘The Shocker’ Two on the clutch one on the…. Gas

As promised, here’s the bike from yesterdays blog proving it’s worth on the dust and bumps of Bali back country boondocks. ‘The shocker’, doing what it does best on it’s first road test and proving it’s worth in the field. Well, next to the paddy field anyway on a narrow track we call ‘Jalan Jelek’ which literally translated means “Ugly road”.  We think our custom motorcycle made something pretty out of such ugliness, demonstrating it’s torque and agility and road holding ability. No matter the surface!

‘The Shocker’

Someone just let an animal outta the cage we call the Bengkel. A beast by any standard and hungry for the tarmac, asphalt or any kind of chewed up back country shortcuts. This bike is built for anything you can throw at it and it’s already proved that on an off road test drive session. Maybe we’ll show you the photos and video of that afternoon of mayhem in the next few days. Meanwhile, on it’s beauty parade in the studio (this bike loves the Camera), we can take a look at what makes this machine ready for flats, mounds and motorcross grounds. Up front the stylish custom mesh headlight is strapped onto a couple of heavy duty GSXR 600 … View More

"Sri Lanka Flight 902 is Now Boarding"…

Just in time for the upcoming surf trip to Sri Lanka, two Thomas Bexon sliders are fresh out of the Deus sanding bay and into the board bags! Glassed with class and resin filled with skill these boards are bordering on fine art. And don’t they look sleek and pretty! Thomas & Jake really went to town on these craft. The patch work, resin tints and use of Volan and Batik as well as the science of the shape really show the skill these guys brought to the shaping bay. The boards have been made for a couple of the closest family members here at the “Temple” and they can’t wait to dip them into the warm waters of the … View More

Slidetober Surf, Music & Art Fest – 16th October 2011

We can not believe that the first birthday of the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm is coming up. What a year! But it’s not over yet and we are so hyped getting ready for our biggest event yet, it’s like new years eve in October! The Deus Slidetober Surf, Music & Art fest.  Morning people, we need 48 surfers, to kick off at Canggu Beach at 7am. Bring the family, dog, bucket and spade, but we’ll warn you now, our surf competition isn’t your common garden variety, it comes with a couple of quirky wrinkles. For one thing all of the surfboards retro/vintage will be supplied. Secondly, and something oh so much more Dice Man, competitors will choose which board they … View More

Sted’s Healthy Twins…

Combine 1 part foam, a filmer with no shirt, a pair of nice titties and a lanky surfer, and ya get, ‘Sted’s Healthy Twins…’Surfer Luke Stedman, film maker Jimmy James and a wicked Twin Fin shaped by Elis Ericson (over here at “The Temple” of course) all put there collective heads together and went to work.Elis was on the foam, and twisted up a mean old Twinzer like no other, after all huffing foam and fumes is what he does. Next step, head to ‘The Bukit’ and pull in. Jimmy was set on the sand and lanky Luke Stedman in the line up. Barrels later, a few cheater fives, some gouging cutbacks and a set of twins doing what they do … View More

Deus Bali Fixed Gear Feature in Treadline Magazine

In this day and age of digital media the oft forgotten, and much maligned, print media, especially off island, just seems to miss our radar. It’s not intentional, just the way it is here in Bali. If you can’t read it online, we don’t get to read it. Then it should come as no surprise to you to learn we only just heard that Treadlie magazine published this print perfect little tale of spokes in their third issue, their fourth issue has just hit the newsstands so snaffle one up. We tracked the article down through digital means and thought it only fitting that we should present it to you, denizens of the digital domain, in a similar electronic fashion. … View More

Cuddles goes to the Bukit.

Matt “Cuddles” Cuddihy, surfer extraordinaire, thrill seeker, deep thinker (Not sure about this one but it sounds good) and Deus family member has been over in the Bali these past weeks hanging out at the Temple and surfing Canggu waves. What was ostensibly a trip to pick up a new Deus Custom board turned into a bit of a Bali travelogue. First time visitor to these shores. The crew were super amped to have him here and took it upon themselves to be his tour guide and take him on a couple of excursions around this beautiful island. But the clock wound down and this morning, his last day on the island, we found that he’d been harbouring a secret … View More

Matthew P – "She Began to Dance" Music Video

“Have you ever had a bad day? Of course not your in Bali where you can never have a bad day” Our good friend Matthew P, who was our resident musician here at the “Temple” during his last visit, has released a new video filmed on the coast of Suffolk England. We love to check out the goings on of this lovely chap and once again he’s put out another rad song. Matty P grew up in a country town on the east coast of the UK writing music with his brothers and friends until he was discovered at a point when he thought he was in hiding. Heading back home from the big city after two years dedicated to … View More

‘Tanks’ for the Gold.

Picture this. We are sitting with a prospective client, who also happens to be a friend of the family. Deus family that is. Anyway, we are sitting there talking through his vision for the custom bike he wants. We discuss, motors and frames. Seats and suspension. Wheels and exhaust. Eventually the conversation gets around to the tank, which was when Tony started to explain the red dragon he would like to see weaving around on the metal vessel. After collecting our jaw, which was half way to the floor with incredubility, we manage to say “Sorry mate, that’s not the type of work we do here…” Lets go backward to come forward. Our good friend Tony had come in and … View More
